Leonid Agutin on the new album: 

 

“I love doing this — I love writing songs. When they come to me, I release them. Why not? ‘N.V.L.’ is the name of the album and the title track. It stands for ‘Nadezhda, Vera, Lyubov’ — which translates to Hope, Faith, and Love. The song became the soundtrack for a film where the main characters are named exactly that: Nadezhda, Vera, and Lyubov. Just imagine — each of those words carries multiple meanings. They are both concepts and people. I realized you couldn’t name an album more fittingly, because every song in it is either about one or the other. And each track on this album is dear to me in its own way. 

 

In general, the most important thing is the feeling I get — when I’ve already come up with the lyrics, the melody, when the arrangement is ready, and I stand by the microphone to sing. I immerse myself in that special world and truly enjoy what I’m doing in that moment. And when I get goosebumps, when I can barely hold back tears… 

 

That’s exactly what I want — I want listeners to catch that feeling too, to be drawn into this album. And if they are — then it was all worth it.”
